the material design lab in copenhagen enabled us first studies with the pigment-producing janthinobacterium lividum from waag society. for the dyeing tests different fabrics such as silk, raw silk fibres, smooth cotton, terry cloth and elastic jersey were used. in about 40 experiments, various dyeing techniques such as folding, knotting, stenciling or inlaying were applied.
